Taking time to relax and be with yourself is so important. We have become part of a fast moving world, and we often do not have the luxury to stop and be with ourselves, with our favourite book for exemple and an amazing cup of tea!
In sophrology we teach easy techniques that can be done quickly during the day. For exemple while seating in a coffee shop or on the bus, we can take a few minutes to pay attention to the points of contacts of our body with the chair. feeling the weight of our body. We can also become aware of the contact of our clothes against our skin.
We can then feel the natural rhythm of our breath.
This will bring calm to our body and our mind.
We can also use this awareness to truly appreciate this lovely cup of tea. First we can take the cup in our hands and feel its warmth against our skin. We can bring the cup closer to our nose to smell the aroma of the tea, we can even close our eyes for a short moment to really take in that smell. We can bring the cup closer to our lips and let a very small amount of tea into our mouth. We can feel the warm liquid on our tongue and the taste buds getting ready to taste it.
Taking our time and being more aware of our everyday things like drinking tea, will bring peace and harmony to our days. Therefore bringing relief to our daily stress and giving a chance for our nervous system to be in a more restful mode.
